First, MyFitnessPal. This site has an easy to use app for your phone and tracks your food, workouts, goals progress and even estimates your progress if you stay on track! It also has a nice feature that you can connect with your friends to help cheer you on - and keeps your stats to simply + or - pounds. My friend, Nick, and I have been sharing each other's progress and I love having him give me virtual pats on the back for my hard work.
My only complaint about the site - the workouts are far too limited and/or incorrect. I often have to compensate by increasing the recorded time for a certain activity to reflect the correct calories burned.
Second, Map My Run. I LOVE this app and, unfortunately, completely attached to it when I run outside. It uses your phone's GPS to track your distance, pace, etc. and announces your pace as you run.
Although this site offers similar features as MyFitnessPal - connecting with friends, food log, etc., I really only use it running outside.
Only complaint - it drains my battery when I listen to music at the same time. I'm hoping now that I have a new phone my battery will last through a long run. (When I actually run one...)
Anyone else have sites/apps that help them with active/healthy lifestyles?
Daily Mile! It's like facebook for runners :) I've had a profile for awhile but hadn't been using it. I've resolved to start. I have MyFitness Pal too but I've never really liked to count calories esp when marathon training (whole large pizza like whoa LOL)
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out! Thanks :)
